While I was away recently, I didn't use as much power as normal, and had switched off non essential items.
I've just calculated my core consumption over the period as 1.26 kWh of electricity per day. Gas was reduced but as I had the heating on at a low level there is no equivalent figure - although logically it would be zero if the heating was off.
As my consumption of electricity now is normally Circa 4.4kWh per day I now know that my other daily activity power uses are circa 3.14 kWh per day. Perhaps I should calculate some circle dimensions!
All I've got to do now is to figure out what to do with this data!!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
... I've just calculated my core consumption over the period as 1.26 kWh of electricity per day.
At an hourly average of 52.5Wh that's really good. My hourly average every night from 1-7am (before anything gets fired up) is around 190Wh. I think the lowest I've spotted in any hourly period is 0.16kWh.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
remember I’d switched off things like TV’s that would normally be on standby, cordless and mobile phone chargers, a cable box not needed for recording,
left on was the fridge, freezer, central heating pump, PIR outside lamp, clocks on the microwave and main oven.
but it gives me a floor figure that I’ll probably never get below.
87 Wh used per hour overnight for me although my Virgin 360 is on standby. Other that this appliance, very little else switched on overnight apart from my core essentials. Bright told me that.😁
If we know this core consumption is mainly fridge and freezer (s), the we know how much (on average) would be saved if they were switched off in a demand shift scenario.
So I've identified a use for the data that I can't utilise!.
I'm really hurt and disappointed that my comrades didn't pick up on my Pi comment. Perhaps like footballers we're a bit jaded by the toll the forum takes on us. But hopefully it will be very quiet over Christmas, because we've all got better things to do then - haven't we? Like getting our spirits up - with my recent haul I've now got 7 bottles of various whiskies to get through - and I'll try my utmost to provide some empties for the recycle bin.

Ok, I get it...sorry, I've been rather busy these last few days as I've had builders in doing some major work on the hovel, so my last couple of days Foruming have been rather more cursory than usual. I'm playing catch-up now!!
I've got a rather nice bottle of Laphroaig reserved for my Festerings. I received it as a gift from a very dear friend earlier in the year and I've been looking at it longingly for several months and have somehow resisted the temptation to crack the seal. It will go nicely with my mini Christmas pudding 😋, after my festive beans on toast.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

My apologies it was a little too subtle for my 2 grey cells to pick up immediately. 👴
Now if you had said 3.1428571428571.........kwh then I'd have spotted it. 🤣🤣🤣 Enjoy your whiskies. 🥃 Cheers. 🎅
PS I always found 22/7 was good enough for the situations I needed it for.
