Maths and numbers are not my strong point but surely if I had a target of 20% usage for the switch off and save and the results said i reduced usage by 86%, that means I only used 14% which is surely better than the 20% target they gave.🤔🤔
Have received another email to say the results were wrong, I actually increased my usage by 86%😠 still doesn't sound right to me so I won't bother taking part again
You could download something like the Hildebrand Bright app and check the usage during the event against your historical average for yourself. I've just managed to do that correctly at last (now that I know how to) and what Eon next says tallies with what I see for myself. The app is free to download and folks here are always willing to help with the calculations.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
The target set is ambiguous but I think it’s a 20% reduction in average usage over the set period. Either way you should have succeeded and been rewarded. Are you saying they told you that you failed?
Others are in this predicament and it’s ridiculous. I haven’t heard anything yet from last Wednesday’s and Friday’s events.

What we really need to see are usage numbers from the events that only customers such as yourselves can provide via the Bright app for example. Do you think you have reduced usage by 86%? Only you and Eon Next will know for sure.
The other thing that potentially hits me is whether the data populating the email that you and others have received is described incorrectly. Possibly this 86% metric Eon Next have calculated and stated is not the %usage reduction (which would merit a payment reward) but the % of your baseline usage (i.e you've only reduced your baseline usage by 14% would would mean no payment as it is less than 20%).

As you have not received any emails from Eon Next re the 29th November event I wonder why not, now that we are 4 days from when the event took place. I'm sure results were promulgated within 4-5 days possibly earlier last year. At least you have got a decent idea of how much you actually reduced your energy consumption by and will be able to comment with a degree of certainty as to whether Eon Next are using/calculating the wrong metric.
I really wish I could help further other than to lure you towards the black art of spreadsheeting. 👍
You may not have reached your target this time around, but there is still plenty of time to be rewarded for saving energy in future events.
I get what the email is stating but my recent post suggests a possibility that the email they have sent you is incorrectly worded at best/totally misleading at worst.🤔
Whatever the truth here Eon next were late to the 2023 DFS party, their emails have inconsistencies (using only 8 weekdays for example to calculate baseline usage) and possibly even the wrong metric has been used, as I explained in the post link, leading to exactly the sort of head-scratching we are seeing (and not just from yourself).

I'm afraid I don't know what to say. There are lots of inconsistencies this year. The invitation to take part has an an ambiguous target of 20% of something, they specify 8 days but aren't clear if it's working days, people seem to have hit their target by a long way and still fail the event and some of us have heard nothing about our efforts 4 days ago. There are a few current threads running on this with little or no comment from the eon next staff who are currently replying to posts that are months old.
@EmmaN_EONNext can you please flag these current threads to someone who can enlighten us as to what's going on here? Here are some threads...
