We will need some more information on this. How high is high? Are we talking electric or gas or both? How much is it displaying in kWh and in cost and at what time? Does the cost match your tariff rates given how many kWh you have used? Do the tariff rates showing in the IHD match those in your online account?
I use about 0.2kWh of electricity every hour overnight as a baseline consumption with two fridges, two freezers, some outside LED lights and some AV stuff on standby.
You can download the Hildebrand Bright app which will show your consumption right down to half- hourly intervals to help see when energy is being consumed.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Some great advice by @JoeSoap, @berylmary have you tried any of the apps suggested? Are you seeing the same charges every night? Is your TV left on standby at night or switched off at the plug? Leaving your TV on standby would still use some Electricity, however a small amount.

Why is my I HD showing high charges overnight.Far in excess of daily charges. No appliances other than fridge and tv in use.
Are you displaying daily cost or actual consumption in kWh?
If you are simply displaying cost but only have a fridge and TV, don't forget your daily standing charges are added on just after midnight.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
No idea unfortunately. The only extra item being used was an Airwick room freshener which only emits aromas occasionally, and is supposed to be cheap to run. Not so,apparently. Thanks
Can anyone explain this situation to me please? The IHD shows approximately £3 at the end of each day which is ok.However, I got up in the middle of the night last week and there was a charge of £2.20 on the IHD.Last night at 3am there was a charge of £1.70. Yet the following morning on eac h occasion, these charges disappeared and were replaced with a charge of 86p- daily charges which are ok. Am I being billed for these two amounts of £2.20 and £1.70p,when I do not know what they could refer to in the middle of the night? Does anyone else have this problem please? Thanks
