So I am applying for the SEG until I come across a condition that states :
Please note - if you have a battery to store the electricity that you generate, you'll only be eligible for this tariff if your battery is only fed from your microgen installation. If your battery is powered from the grid, unfortunately you won't be eligible.
Whats the issue, well my system uses Micro Inverters so there is no DC other than that between the panel and its Micro Inverter.
My Battery is therefore an AC coupled battery as I have no option to have a DC coupled battery.
Surely having an AC coupled battery should not exclude you from SEG ?
@paulj If you have a SEG account already then that licensee would have confirmed or rejected the battery storage options, as in charging from the grid etc. We will check the application and complete the switch.
There shouldn't be an issue if you have had a SEG account for 2 years, however as previously advised we will need to check the switch application.

The whole point is to export excess energy generated from purely solar or other off-grid generation. Charging a battery off the grid at off-peak rates and exporting that same energy (known as brown energy) doesn't provide any net benefit to the grid and is therefore excluded from the scheme. But nothing to stop you charging the battery at night and using that power by day to supplement your solar generation or reduce your net import.

Yep I get that I could charge overnight and then sell back at a profit, but I dont see why having AC coupled battery system should exclude you from SEG, lets face it even with a DC coupled battery it is possible to charge via the grid.
All battery systems can be charged from the grid as well as from solar. All battery systems allow you to use your stored energy from whatever source as part of your energy requirements. But AC coupled systems and microinverters are not able to be metered for net import and net export, which is how the SEG system works.
My solar system is completely and totally isolated from my grid supply. What I generate I use and then when I run out of power I draw from the grid (a system known as grid fallback). There is no way to make that comply with the requirements for SEG. But I mitigate my costs by using all my own available energy, so I'm not losing out.
@retrotecchie, Everything generated by my MI system is metered to the panel level Everything exported and imported is metered, the only grey area would be that as previously mentioned I could charge overnight and sell back to the grid at a profit, but ite ridiculous to do so and then have to import at day rates it doesnt make sense to do it.
So I still see no valid reason to not allow an AC coupled system to export.
