I signed up for a new tariff a couple of days ago and it should have started today, however, my IHD is still showing the old (higher) tariff. I tried restarting the IHD in the hope that it might rectify the problem, but it didn't. Do I need to be more patient, or do I need to contact e-on? Thanks in advance for any help or advice :)

You will need to be patient. Rolling out new tariffs to the meters and the IHD can take a while and is not without complications, but your billing will be charged at the correct rate.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -

If your tariff update doesn't appear in a couple of days you can email hi@eonnext.com putting ''Smart Meter and IHD Tariff Update Request'' as a title and something like...
Hi,
''I recently switched tariff to *************. Please can you update my smart meters and IHD for both gas and electric tariffs.
My account details are...
Account No....
Name....
Address...
Many thanks''
When you get a reply (which could be the same day) the update will usually take place just after midnight. As @retrotecchie says though, it doesn't always go right.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -

@JoeSoap Just to update, I did what you said and they replied within a couple of hours....and a couple of hours after that, my IHD was showing my new tariff 😃 Thanks once again for your advice and help!

That made me double check the rates on my IHD...ha ha. Suppose I'd better check my meters too! -

I think all will be ok for you. There was an ongoing issue when I first requested the tariff update and the more I persisted in trying to get it done, the more things went awry. Things are still not quite right with my account but I’ll get there in the end 🤞
