Yesterday I signed up on-line to the EON Next Pledge Tracker 12m V2 tariff based on quoted unit rates of 25.65p/kWh electricity and 6.60p/kWh gas inc. VAT.
The renewal confirmation showed unit rates of 28.42p/kWh electricity and 7.22p/kWh gas inc. VAT, both approx.10% higher than the quoted prices.
I queried these higher rates with EON. My query was not answered directly other than that it is inherently related to the price cap. No further discussion possible and suggest I speak to OFGEM or citizen's advice bureau.
Am I missing something in connection with the price cap and this particular tariff ?
All I want at this time is to understand the reason for the actual unit rates being higher than those quoted. I realise that these rates may change quarterly but cannot understand the change between quoted rates and those after signing up on the same day.
There’s an article on the MSE website about this tariff that may help and if you read through it, it explains about all the confusion. Article linked below…
Hello @Birdman Anasa here 👋 It's great to have you around! I'm sorry you've had to get in touch about your tariff though ☹ Both prices were correct.
I've done some digging 👩🌾 and the online quote you received represented the new pledge price that has been updated with the October cap change and the letter you received confirmed the price you would pay for a few days before the price cap change in October. There are a few weeks before the new cap price where anyone choosing flex will get the current and new prices in line with the price cap change and it important you see both prices. 😊

Hello @Birdman Anasa here 👋 It's great to have you around! I'm sorry you've had to get in touch about your tariff though ☹ there have been some issues with the prices not matching but I can assure you that from the 1st of October (or your tariff start date if after the 1st Oct) You'll be paying the cheaper prices that were quoted online and the prices on the email/letter are current (higher) prices and they are incorrect. 😊
Can someone please post the actual unit rates and standing charges for the North West region for this 12 month tracker version 2 tariff. I am trying to see over the next 12 months if this will work out cheaper than the Loyalty fixed v4 tariff bearing in mind the predicted increase in the cap from January
@Anasa_EONNext
Hello Anasa
Thanks for your prompt response and reassurance.
I will check my next monthly bill to see if the rates quoted to me are being used w.e.f. 1st October.
Thanks,
Birdman

Afternoon. You might have seen this already but then again it might help. It's on my online account. I'm in the North West. I think I'll be staying with Loyalty for the moment, possibly. 🤔 I've no idea how accurate these figures are and will more than likely change from Oct 1.
i have just signed up and have the same issue. Our new tariff starts tomorrow and we were quoted the same as @Birdman and have been emailed the higher rates also!
