I would like to know what I got for Wednesday to see whether it’s worth it! It’s blooming freezing!
I have gas heating so it’s only the 45w or so of the pump that consumes lecky. I don’t mind changing cooking times slightly and switching off some lights but I’m not going cold for a pound or so… no way 🥶
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Remember last year when the nation was short of gas? If gas is in short supply then they would cut the electricity to stop everyone using gas.
If the gas pipes run dry then there are huge safety issues for getting the gas back on due to possible explosions in the pipes where gas and air will be mixed.
We once woke up to no gas affecting the whole village and it was because some joker had opened the cabinet and turned off the gas taps. Every property had to be individually isolated from the street before the gas taps could be turned on and then every property was turned on in turn.

Please can someone in the know at Eon Next explain to me how come I failed?

#PowerSwitch is a #CON
Well, two days ago you said, and I quote:
Changed to the British Gas EV 2 tariff, Off Peak unit rate 8.95p per kWh, Peak unit rate, 30.93p per kWh, Standing charge 40.97p per day, No exit fee, Fixed for 1 year.
So what has E.On Next got to do with it? Also 'may not have reached your target' is rather different from 'you did not reach your target'.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Also 'may not have reached your target' is rather different from 'you did not reach your target'.
So what does it it mean? Why doesn't #PowerSwitch use #PlainEnglish ? Gives percentage targets but never an actual target value. Results given in #Doublespeak .

there was no shortage of gas - it was always available at a price, and because our storage was minimal we were dependant upon liquified gas imports being maintained. Currently the gas network is running at near full capacity because extra amounts are being used to generate electricity because of a lack of wind generation.
cutting of electricity supplies would stymie gas boilers because they rely on electricity for their controls. Gas fires, ovens and hobs would not be affected.
gas can be rationed by reducing the pressure in the system.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
