Also, I would think the air fryer is thermostatically controlled so the heating element is probably only switched on for a proportion of the 12 minutes.
Likewise the hob. Also thermostatically controlled and cycles on and off.
Air fryer for as much as I can, but not boiled eggs!! The idea of doing a weeks worth appals. How do you heat 'em up again without using more energy, and won't the yolks go firm? How can you have a boiled egg that you can't dip a few Marmite soldiers into!!!

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I was just trying to weigh up which method used more leccy. I'm still not sure but I would choose the traditional method. We have a gas hob and probably boil less than six eggs a week. I pre-boil the water in an electric kettle then simmer for 5 minutes on the hob. Flo starts with cold water and simmers on the hob for what seems like an age. Which method costs less? Not a scooby 🤔
Bargain. 😂 Get the cook book out and enjoy. Mine is not a fancy one and does the job perfectly. Nothing like a good old hotpot or Irish stew and dumplings on a cold winter's day.
I agree. Lasagne is very good cooked in the Slow Cooker too. You have to brown the mince in a pan first, or, I often use left over cooked mince from a mince and dumplings, or mince and tatties dinner. There are lots of recipes online, but it's easy to make. It's the same process as making one for the conventional oven.

I can’t wait. Knowing me, I'll just stick with browning some diced chicken, throwing in some chopped mushrooms and peppers, smothering it with Chicken Tonight and switching it on 😂

No no no. That's way too quick. Remember it's slow 🐌 cooking. 😂
@JoeSoap re the rice pud crust: It depends what model you have some can go in the oven for browning I have one that can go on the stove and in the oven but always check the instructions as I know lots of the ceramic pot ones aren't oven proof.
@retrotecchie see my husband likes a boiled egg in his salads and for making egg mayo sandwiches etc, I'm not a fan of a dippy egg I do however like egg in a cup bashed up with a bit of butter, salt n pepper it's delish! @Tommysgirl I've never done lasagna in the slow cooker, I have done mac n cheese though!
@WizzyWigg is right you might need to adjust your recipes to have a little less water as it doesn't evaporate like it does in the oven. I usually make sure whatever I'm cooking is just covered with liquid and no more and I always have cornflour in just in case it doesn't thicken! I have to admit though I like @meldrewreborn style a glass of wine makes everything taste better 😂
