I also switched off all electric power off at mains for 1 hour and meter went up by 1 kwh.
If you isolated your property for an hour and still consumed 1kW then maybe someone is nicking your leccy either by some error during some work being carried out or on purpose... it happens. You need to speak to customer service as you are heading for a big bill unless this is nipped in the bud.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Maybe the waters were muddied due to the tariff change (if you mentioned it). This time you can tell them you have gone from 4 to 18kWh per day for no apparent reason and you saw your meter clock 1kWh when the power was off at the mains. Good luck with getting this sorted.
Just to chime in here @rogi1 are you taking readings from the actual meter itself or the in home display? Do the in home display and smart meter readings match?

I don.t have a smart meter it's an ordinary digital display model. i' ve done an isolation test twice now and got the same result i.e an increase of 1 unit when switched off for
1 hour. I'd like to know what my next step should be regards contacting eon to see if this can be resolved as quickly as possible if it is a meter problem.
