I never would add salt when cooking for myself but FloSoap and SoapSud (thanks @retrotecchie for that one๐) like stuff salted. I used to go along with it but was told by the doc, forcibly, to cut down. Hence all the pans now on the hob at one time. We also now use the hob like that practically every day, whereas before the end of June the hob was only used about half as much as that (due to other dietary reasons). I really think now that this is the reason my gas consumption is markedly higher over the last two months. I just didnโt think it would be a noticeable difference, and probably wouldnโt be in winter when the gas CH is on a lot and Iโm using over 2000kWh a month in any case. Another 100kKh would hardly be noticeable, but in summer it constitutes a 20% increase.
Yepโฆ I think Iโve sussed it at last ๐
Your doc must be from the same breed as mine. ๐. Keep up the great work. Glad you have sussed it. ๐

Well, I think I've sussed it. Time will tell. Yeah, that doc didn't half have a go at me. I consider myself to be healthy but turned out I was eating too much salt and not drinking enough (non-alcoholic) fluid. Had a few dodgy blood tests but last one was ok so I've relaxed things just a teeny weeny bit... honest ๐
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Been there and got T-shirt. ๐. @retrotecchie talks about baby dragons, (heating his abode), I've got one as a doc and definitely not a baby. Lovely lass, very clinical, very professional but whatever she says goes. No word mincing. ๐ Just breathes fire ๐ฅ. ๐

I've had hypertension for a while now, but the lack of access to regular checkups during COViD meant they hadn't monitored me for a while. Ironic that the same day I finally got a check up to be told my BP was a tad higher than it should be, I was in an ambulance for three hours later being blue-lighted to the horsepiddle following a massive stroke.
All good now but it was touch and go at the time. Six months on and I'm my usual curmudgeonly old self. My only lifestyle change was to completely cut caffeine out of my life. They couldn't lower my salt any as I've already gone down that road years ago.
But to anyone I'll say that even the little things can make a difference. @JoeSoap you'll get used to less salt in a very short time. And if you need to spend a tad more on gas to do a separate portion of grub for you and another for Flo and Sud, then so be it. We're all trying to be good and minimise energy use and reduce bills, but you can't put a price on either health or family harmony. No one will hold it against you.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
The salt thing doesnโt bother me too much tbh. I had a worrying time a few months back and was either celebrating with a bottle of wine or drowning my sorrows. When the wine came out so did the olives and crisps. I look at labels now and have changed brands of things, even breakfast cereal, to cut out salt without really noticing. A packet of low salt crisps now and again is a treat. Caffeine has gone and I drink plenty of water.
Fit as a butcherโs dog now ๐โฆ I do miss the olives though ๐ซค
@JoeSoap & @retrotecchie Traffic lights used to be Red, Amber, and Green (according to the Highway Code), but now it's Green all the way. ๐. So far, (over 20 years), heart is ticking and BP is BP-ing. The rest is falling apart. ๐

Hold on to the good news.
