Impressive. Here’s my quick effort on the kitchen floor, Not quite tip to tip but with the right weight of forks, length of stick and some patience it’s possible….IMG_3532.jpg/a>
That's brilliant. I've got forks, sticks, and corks (I use corks for making CO2 rockets when grandkids come over), but no glass bottles. Off to the supermarket methinks. 🤔
pack a moistened plug of toilet paper in the hole. Helps the screw in and sets hard when dry. One of my favourite DIY products was Rawplug, which contained asbestos and some sort of plaster which did the same job in walls. Not available any more - for obvious reason.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
one of the issues with having the boiler temperature high is that the water in the radiators will continue to heat the home above the set temperature even once the boiler has stopped firing. So the real temperature goes above target and then cools down again before triggering the boiler again. Running the boiler at lower settings reduces the overshoot a bit, so making a little saving. And the advice to reduce general thermostats by 1 degree makes the largest saving in percentage terms when it’s not so cold, as you knock 1 off a temperature differential of say 5, rather than perhaps 1 off of 20 in winter. Plus it gets us used to the lower temperature early!
An issue with not having the tank temp hot enough is legionella so I keep the boiler stat high enough to satisfy the requirement of the cylinder stat. Better safe than sorry.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I'd be opening a window as well as the wine. 20 is too warm for me!
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Before last year the default temp setting was 22 degrees and then tweaked up for a boost. Two degrees lower feels ok and we’re not going cold… too much 😂

Tried once many moons ago but wet the tissue too much and ended up with a white liquidy mush. Which was neither use nor ornament. 😂 One learns by one's mistakes 👴.
