Found gas was up this October compared with last by 8.74%. On a positive side electricity was down by 12.68%. Just as a reference there is only 2 of us. I'll have to go back and rethink the gas usage. 👹

    I think you've done well 👍
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

At school they always told me I could do better 😞. But I do try or at least I'm trying. Very trying 😂.

At least they didn't go as far as saying, ''Tries hard, lacks ability''. 😂

That's more than likely what they thought though 🤓.

First time while the £££s have reached double digits in one day. Fairly evenly split (cost-wise) across both fuels. We’re definitely having the house warmer this year. I’ve not yet seen £20 for one day’s consumption on the IHD but it’s looking possible if we have a real cold day and use the washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and oven ☹️

I had a couple of days in October where my fuel consumption daily average broke the £4 mark. £1.30 of that was approximately two litres of oil a day for the central heating and the electricity was a tad higher than usual thanks to a couple of runs of the tumble drier and a bit of batch cooking. The standing charges for the electricity counted for 47p a day. So my electricity use worked out at just over £2 a day which is a little higher than I like. But it's been a pretty wild, wet and windy couple of weeks here, so I'm not too stressed. It will be better once I've taken my sub meter readings in the office and I work out how much contribution the business needs to pay towards the bills. And if it gets much cooler out there, I'll be needing the fan heater, so I can see the numbers creeping up a bit before too long 🤬
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I would imaging £5 per day would start to get you concerned. I used to stress at £10 not so long ago but I'm used to it now. I chose comfort and convenience over cost up until last year when the prices rocketed and cost became the major factor. This year looks like a bit of a compromise, certainly as far as the gas central heating goes.

Figures are certainly on the upward trend.
Avg daily cost to date: £4.96 (Electric and gas) inc SC (0.70p).

Positive side electric usage still below last year by 3.38%.
Not so good we've had to put heating on a bit more, I think my old blood is getting thinner. 👴. It's up 8.45% compared with last November.

Ok we had gov help last year but going on my unsubsidized bill figures for Nov 2022 I'm anticipating to be £40 lower for Nov 2023.
It shows how much the tariffs have reduced. 😶

Update. The time machine malfunctioned l forget it's now November 😂.

As I don’t have a smart meter, I can’t see immediately my daily consumption - I’d have to work it out. But with so many variables to affect the figure, with both internal factors (more appliances used) and the external temperatures at play, with only the former being influenced by household members, I really think that a daily tally means very little in the overall scheme of things. But it’s a free country and if it helps you and others to control consumption then all power to your elbow.
what is certainly clear is that cutting out needless energy consumption is certainly worthwhile!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

@meldrewreborn you are spot on, daily figures on there own aren't that helpful in controlling consumption. As part of a more holistic picture then that's a totally different thing. Remember my smart meters, and the apps are unreliable. I still submit manual readings. 😉
