Hi I have been having trouble with my smart meter for a few years with it not sending readings to eon I have been saying this to them for ages now I have a massive bill when it isn’t my fault I’ve contacted ofgem and they are helping I’m just seeing if anyone else has had this problem thanks
Are you able to read the meter yourself and if so is the bill correct? If you can read it then you could have sent monthly manual readings and received normal monthly bills. If you can’t read it then you have a case to negotiate the bill although it will probably be estimated using your consumption history.

Hi the meter had no display for quite a while and now I’ve no idea how to read it as it doesn’t have a clear display of the numbers the bill was started of at 99999 which clearly isnt right to start of with I asked and asked them to come and have a look at it but no joy
I've had problems off and on for many years with not sending readings. If I've not received a statement by a certain date each month I send manual ones. They are about to switch off 3G in my area soon, and having a old smart meter I foresee it will be manual readings being the norm. 🙁
I think the meters read 99999 when they are fitted so that when gas starts flowing through them they move on to 00000 and then start recording. It’s not clear if you or the meter ever submitted readings at any point. You could perhaps estimate how much you think you owe by going back to your last known proper reading and bill and using your consumption history from the same period(s) historically to see if their estimate of your recent consumption is in the ball park.
Welcome to the Community 😊 it might be helpful if you can post a picture of your meter, it could be in sleep mode and that's why it isn't showing anything on the screen so you may have to "wake up" the meter to get a reading.

Hello @Madmanda Anasa here 👋 Just checking in to see if you've been able to wake up your meter or provide some reads to us. If you can wake up your meter and not sure which screen to read take pics of all the screens and send them to our customer services and we'll pop the reads in for you. Or we can talk you through how to do this over the phone.
If you smart meter is not providing reads its really important to let us know as soon as you can so that we can have a look into it or at least provide us with manual bills. We bill our customers monthly to make this easier 😊
