Ok.
For some reason yesterday my IHD decided not to show any readings on the gas side.
Fast forward 24 hours and all is good with showing gas usage on the IHD.
But according to my IHD the 24 hours previous i supposedly used £3.45 in gas. ??????
Now the other days before Thursday the 29th June my daily usage readings where.
Monday 26th June £0.85p
Tuesday 27th June £0.62p
Wednesday 28th June £0.45p
So how the heck does my IHD get that i used £3.45p when the only bit of gas i used was when i cooked some tea and had had a shower?
Anyone got any clues to 1- why my IHD stopped working for 1 day ? 2- why my IHD decided to hammer me for gas i know i did not use on the day it decided not to work?
Can you check back and see how much it says you have used in kWh compared to the days before? I know there can be problems with the IHDs using incorrect rates but the bills will be correct for the amount of energy consumed.
As long as the kWh readings are what you consider normal then it may be just a glitch.
Also, if you have the Bright App you could check on there to see what you have used.

Reason: Added a bit
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

1. They do that sometimes. Glitch on the HAN, or just random luck. They are a 'guide'...not supposed to be taken as absolute truth.
2. It's displaying random nonsense. It hasn't 'hammered you' for anything. As @JoeSoap says, go by the kWh usage, not what the £ says.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

here are my daily KWH readings.
26th June 15,62 kwh
27th June 9.56 kwh
28th June 5,79 kwh
29th June 84.62 kwh (dont use this much in the dead of winter in a day never mind summer)
How do you arrive at those readings? From the Bright App or your IHD itself, or do you take daily manual readings from the physical meter (not the IHD)?
If you have the Bright App or similar (or even download it at sometime now or in the future) you can break the day’s usage down to half-hourly intervals (as long as your meter is set to half-hourly readings).
This will show exactly when the alleged consumption took place.
My IHD has never been accurate and I only use it a visual guide. Definitely not as the gospel truth. As the forum learned colleagues say the third party app Hildebrand Bright is way more useful. It's free as well. If you use it for the first time it does take a little time to populate. 👴
The Bright app should be spot on as it takes data directly from DCC from your actual meter reads. The actual IHD itself could have just rolled a seven for any number of reasons. They are not infallible. Likewise, if data from DCC was corrupted for any reason, then the Bright app could have the occasional 'wobble. So long as you are only billed for your net metered usage between billing readings, that's all that matters.
