I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
IHD Tariff Update Request More Troublesome Than Normal
-
-
In light of some recent successful smart meter/IHD tariff updates that have been reported on this forum, I have just sent an email to customer service today, 19 July, asking them to try again with mine. I also mentioned the previous issues I recently had when asking for an update and the fact that my Eon Next and Bright apps have not shown any usage since 7th July. I was told the updates would take up to 3-5 working days to take effect. They normally happen overnight on the day they are applied so that’s a new one on me. I will report any progress here.
Edit on 26 July… Well, this is working day number 5 since my last request to get my IHD tariffs updated was actioned and I still don’t have the correct rates showing.
I still don’t have any usage data since 7 July in my Eon Next and Bright apps but don’t know if there is any connection between this issue and the IHD issue.
Finally, I still have had no acknowledgement of my customer complaint of four weeks ago.
Edit on 27 July 23... I have now submitted another request as detailed 👉 hereLast edited by JoeSoap; 27-07-23 at 14:44. Reason: Updated

I shall keep everything crossed 🤞 for you. It's not really needed though this time. 😉 All the best 👴. -
Well, I got a reply to my email within two hours telling me that my account had been checked and the request to update the IHD has been put in place. 'The tariff information should be updated in the next 3-5 working days', it goes on to say. So, that would mean sometime between Monday and Wednesday next week. That's a new one on me as my last (incorrect) update was in place the next morning. Oh well, time will tell 🤞

That's interesting. Mine said 24 hours. You've got to remember mine is a very old steam powered system. 😂. It was updated in a couple of hours. You've probably got the Chief Button Pusher looking after your update. 😂. He's very thorough and meticulous.👴 -
You'll be fine. The sun 🌞 is shining and it's a glorious day. Ok that's my PMA bit done. Keep smiling 😃. -

I do sympathise with you chaps, I really do, but I do think that life is so much less complicated when you don't have any smart meters.
Reading all three of my meters (main meter, office sub meter and shed solar meter) and putting the readings into my spreadsheet takes me less time than it does to put a post on here.
Talking of shed solar, despite a couple of days of very poor weather, I've just racked up my second kWh of fusion energy. The amortised unit price is now under £100 and I've saved 60p on my E.On Next bill. Winner winner, chicken dinner 👍Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
@retrotecchie
I can read my meters by looking at my IHD. No going outside to open two cupboards in all weathers. I never submit readings as that’s all done for me. All the rest is gravy. Nice to have but not essential. All the time I save by not going out to the meters and submitting readings offsets the time I spend contacting customer service and then whinging about the outcome on here 😂
