I didn't expect this to end up such a long thread. I just don't know why, after all this time, getting a smart meter tariff update is such a chore.
Just to reassure those who may read this and think twice about whether or not to have smart meters, this is a minor issue and only really affects the monetary cost as seen on the IHD. The rates on my IHD make the amount shown close enough to be a good indication of cost. The actual consumption is what really matters of course.
As many on here know, I'm always Speaking Up for Smart Meters and IHDs 😁I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -

Or at least, as with SARS-CoV-2, we need to learn how to mitigate the negative impacts.
I dealt with COViD by simply not exposing myself to it and making sure I was fully vaccinated. The same applies to smart meters, as it goes.
I've only ever seen two smart meter installations 'in the wild'. Neither of them work as advertised. In one case, the gas doesn't talk the talk. In the other, the IHD has been put in a kitchen drawer and forgotten about. I know some folk have better experience of them than others but I can put my hand on my heart and say I have never known one single person who has never had a single problem with them.
Every smart meter in our village went dumb in November last year. No-one is any worse off!

Just a taste of what may be ahead of you...
I continued with the very long email trail this morning asking for my meters/IHD to be updated to the correct tariff. I explained that I know there has been issues with non-DD rates being applied in error and that I have never had any problems before when requesting updates.
The eventual reply confirmed I was on a DD tariff... yes I know that... and said my IHD has not picked up the tariff and to allow time for the update... How long does it take?
I replied saying that if there's no update to the correct tariff tomorrow morning then I will raise a complaint.
The next reply asked me to allow time for DCC to update their data.
I replied again saying this has never happened before and please give it another push.
Next reply said, ''I have refreshed your meter, if this has not been updated we would need to wait for DCC to get it updated''.
As @theunknowntech has said, Pete (or indeed any other community co-ordinator) used to update them with no problem. Even when we were told we now had to contact customer service the update would be the next day after being told it was pushed through.
These updates should be automatic but I accept that I have to request them now. What I don't get is that things have gone backwards. By tomorrow morning it will be four days since I was told to expect the update.

@JoeSoap I've been told there is a bit of a work around for this (on Next flex at least, hoping it will work on other tariffs too 🤞) but @PeterT_EONNext is the expert and he's on annual leave at the moment so I can't pick his brains yet!
