The statement will give you a better idea when the reads were taken. 😉
IHD Tariff Update Request More Troublesome Than Normal

Yes, but he doesn't have smart meters so can't request the SMETS command. I've now returned to the bottom of the volunteer list after my short tenure as an app developer/beta tester so now you have reached the top of the list and the next available task for you is to request that SMETS command. What could possibly go wrong 🤔I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
@DebF_EONNext @WizzyWigg
I can see that the readings must have been taken on the 5th in order to charge me on that date. Clearly the date on the meter read history is just when the readings show up there. It's a priority thing... Get Joe Soap's money first and then tell him what the meter readings were 😂 -
The same chronology exists with my transactions. My take on the precise timings etc
Circa midnight 30th Sep-1st October the smart Reads pulled by DCC onto their servers.
1st October, smart reads lifted by Eon Next from DCC servers automatically and populate the meter reads (dated 1st October) within account.
2nd October, the meter read fields within account, having been populated with smart reads, automatically generates bill but with the reading taken effectively right at the end of the billing period (i.e. 30th September). Effectively then the meter reads are the reads @ 0001 on 1st October. So there is, and always has been, this 'lag' in dates.
I can only assume that the system of pulling the smart meter reads in my part of the NE is without the issues I see raised all too often in these forums.Last edited by Mailman; 07-10-23 at 21:57.

Makes sense. Mine seem to be pulled on the 5th at who knows what time and the amount charged is applied to my account the same day. On the 6th, the transaction shows up backdated to the 5th and the meter read shows up for the 6th (not backdated). I'll post back when I get the statement.
Everything seems to lag except applying the charges to the account 😂 -
@retrotecchie
What was that SMETS command you spoke of previously to retrieve data stored in smart meters? If applied, does the missing period of data in my Bright and Eon Next apps get populated?
@WizzyWigg ... Just asking 🤔😂 -
You'll definitely need this 😵, this time. Who says lightening doesn't strike twice etc!!!! If you were going to attempt it I would suggest doing on this Friday coming 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. -
So my take on @JoeSoap 's problem would be that for the period the meter stopped working, the readings were never stored in the buffer so can never be recovered.
However if the meter isn't functioning properly this doesn't explain how it can maintain a record of total units of energy used for the whole period
