I spoke too soon. I have just checked on my Eon Next app, expecting to find no change, and was pleasantly surprised. Meter readings have been taken and there are transactions showing I have been charged for gas and electricity on 5 October. No statement as yet but I’m now confident one will be produced in the next couple of days.
Fifteen weeks after requesting a tariff update I am now confident my smart meters are working as they should, with the correct tariff. It’s a real shame I still have a two month gap in my usage history and have no idea how to get that populated. If that happens it will be the icing on the cake 🧁.
Happy days 👍
There was that light at the end of the tunnel. Well there you go. What did I say. Send that email to CS to trigger that SMETS command to upload historical usage for your app, before it's too late. 😂😂 Perhaps not as there could be another saga waiting to raise it's ugly head.
I think @Mailman is one of the privileged few. If only we could clone his setup and distribute throughout the country wouldn't that be wonderful. 🤓 Keep dreaming. 😂
Of course it would - just think of all the consultancy fees I could rake in. 😂
The only bit of free advice I can give is to desist in submitting any manual reads as I have done throughout 2023. The only thing I update is my monthly spreadsheet (with the reads recorded at midnight-ish on the last day of the month) and than see how close the total kWh/£ for the month is to the billing. It always used to bug me that the smart reads would not appear until lateish on the 1st and there were a couple of months last year where I wilted and submitted manuals earlier on the 1st which seemed to produce the dreaded 'pending transaction on the gas', leading to a statement delay by a few days.
I have been fortunate that Eon Next have been able to pull my smarts on schedule. produce a timely statement within 24 hours of smarts being pulled with the statements reconciling to my own usage (kWh and £) spreadsheets. Even the IHD is showing the correct tariff information. I am the living proof that Kraken is the way of the future. 🤤
this from the smart meter refusenik so I apologise if I’ve got it wrong, but I think the historic readings are there in the meter, and perhaps recoverable. But if you have data from prior years for the same period and the total consumption for the period this year some pro rats calculation might suffice.
But it would be interesting to know whether smart meters customers have more interaction with customer services than those who resist the lure of such meters. I’ve not contacted customer services for anything since my enforced transfer from Symbio, and the web site accepts my readings well enough.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Let sleeping dogs lie will be my guiding motto as far as historical usage is concerned 😂
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

I can’t even work out when my smart readings are taken. The meter read history suggests the 6th of the month. See top entry for the 6th October (the smart reading on 21/9 was pulled at my request just to check they could now do it again but it didn’t produce a statement )…
…but I’m actually charged for the usage on the 5th October…
… so they must be pulled on the 5th in order to charge me for the usage, yet they tell me the reading was on the 6th. And then of course, the statement has yet to appear 🤔

Apparently the meters hold 13 months of data, so the missing data should be there. As you can see from his post above, @WizzyWigg suggested requesting a SMETS command that can retrieve that data (I think). For obvious reasons, I’m reluctant to do it. I’m waiting for Wizzy to try to get his data gaps populated first 😂

Yep you could make an absolute fortune. 😂
I will certainly take on board what you say about not submitting manuals, once my meters consistently communicate. 🙃 At the moment, and for the past few years, it's been totally erratic. For the foreseeable future I will continue to treat them in the old fashion way. 🤓

Hey the original suggestion came from @retrotecchie . My communications are way too erratic, so definitely wouldn't work. 😂 You would be best candidate as you are now back with the privileged few. 😂😂
@JoeSoap so from what you have shown here your readings have come through on the 6th. You will be billed up to your latest reading (up to essentially means the day before so in your case the 5th) and then your next bill will start from that reading.
This month your bill should show you have been billed from your September reading - 5th Oct 14263 (All usage up to the 6th)
Next month your bill will start from 6th October reading 14263 - 5th Nov (All usage from the 6th)
I hope this makes sense?
