I have now been informed that the loss of communication with the smart meters is highly unlikely to be connected with the tariff update issues. I have just emailed customer service to request an engineer visit.
Am I reading this post correctly, but to me they are saying that it's very unlikely the update issues generated the communication failure? 🤔
I think ‘very unlikely’ was the phrase used. Without any proof it’s all academic I suppose.
Sorry. I shouldn't have said "didn't". I've edited my post to accommodate the doubt. You've done the right thing getting the engineer in. The only proof would be an identical setup sent the identical update left in an identical state.🤔
For the avoidance of doubt, I was told that the lost communications is 'not linked or very very unlikely'. Until I have re-established comms there is no way I can get the update. As Buzz Lightyear nearly said... To insanity and beyond 😂
It's been enough to drive anyone scatty, all of your malarkey, but let's hope that someone (possibly the engineer) manages to pin the tail on the donkey and actually find an answer to the problem. Fingers crossed the issue is something fairly trivial, and fixable.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I think you've gone beyond insanity. Beyond the Event Horizon and entered the Black Hole. The theory says it's possible you could travel through time and space via a worm hole re-entering through another Black Hole. Can't guarantee that would solve your problem though. But you know hindsight etc! 😂
My guess is that the engineer will somehow get comms established, hopefully without swapping out the meters. Then… assuming the issues with dishing out wrong tariffs is fixed, I’ll get another update pushed out to me.
If it all works then maybe people can request updates with a bit more confidence.
