They must know I exist as they sent me an email asking me to book an engineer visit. As you know, I'm reluctant to do that for fear of having an investigation into two issues, one at each end... (or are they?), that may make things even worse than they are. The issues may or may not be linked and @LeeDQ_EONNext is awaiting some clarification on this from the boffins.
I have decided that if I don't get any news tomorrow I'm leaving Eon Next...................... only joking 😉😂. Actually, what I will do tomorrow is fulfil my part by booking the engineer's visit unless I am advised otherwise before I send the email. I can always cancel if needs be.
I wasn’t going to post on this thread today unless I really did have some news. I have been wrestling with whether to book the engineer visit but this evening I wondered how much time I might continue wasting waiting for an answer that might not come for a while yet… if at all. So, I thought I would commit here to going ahead and booking the damn thing tomorrow so that I’m less likely to change my mind.
There seems to be many folks viewing this. I’m guessing it’s not on account of the scintillating wit that peppers the thread but more that a lot of people are having the same or similar issues and are keen to see if this all gets fixed in a timely manner. With any luck, when the cause of the incorrect tariff rates gets fixed, many smart meters out there, together with their IHDs, will automatically update. If not, then at least when updates are requested, others won’t have the same experience I have had.
The waiting game.🤔 Tricky. 🤔 Bury head in sand and hope it goes away, or bite the bullet.
I think there are many watching, and it's not the scintillating wit 😂. More like we're getting towards the end of a great book and really want to know who did it. 🤔
I have now been informed that the loss of communication with the smart meters is highly unlikely to be connected with the tariff update issues. I have just emailed customer service to request an engineer visit.
Evening @JoeSoap I note you say it's unlikely to be related but I do wonder if because the smart meters have lost communication that could be why the tariff updates haven't been going through. In my head I would imagine if the smart meter isn't communicating with us then we wouldn't be able to communicate with it 🤔 I'm not sure if I'm waayyyy of the mark with that theory smart wouldn't be my Mastermind subject that's for sure 😅 but does that make sense?

The tariff update fiasco was already in full swing before the smart meter’s stopped communicating after 7 July. For that reason I was/am convinced the issues are related but not the way round you have suggested.
Remember, the tariff update went through… but it was at the wrong rates. Any attempt to put the issue right ended up making things worse.
