Hi, we moved into a new build house in 2021, and Eon had installed all the meters but had failed to install the communication part on the smart meters. They came and sorted it out, in Feb'23. At the time, the engineer couldn't commission the meters and said it was an issue at Eon's end. We still have to give manual readings. Since then, they can't give us a date or time, to rectify this. I have made a formal complaint, they tell me it's DCC fault and it's not commissioned and there is a national issue, to which I can not find anything out there to say this.
Has anyone else had this issue and how did it take to resolve ?
Sorry that I can't help but I'll tag a couple of members that certainly know more than me and may be able to assist. Hello @theunknowntech are you looking in? Also @retrotecchie I don't know if you've seen this query as I've only just noticed it but sometimes you shed some light in these matters.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
DCC have had issues commissioning some SMETS2 meters, usually in areas where 3g has already been turned off and Telefonica don't have coverage. West Wales, chunks of Cumbria and a few other areas. Other than that, maybe just poor signal.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Hi, yes and no. Both meters were replaced although they didn't need to be. But the Gas Smart Meter can't be read by Eon but we can either using the IHD or the Loop app. We have told them why they possibly can't, but hey ho!
