My daughter-in-law has received an email threatening debt collectors for a bill from Aug 2020 to Feb. 2021 for ยฃ210. She has never been a customer of Eon and has lived in the UAE for the past ten years.
Is this a scam?

It's great that you've come to our Community for answers ๐ต and it is always a good idea to ask around and check these things before replying to an unknown sender ๐. It seems to me that this is a E.ON Next email (so we've removed the email address for my colleagues privacy) - there could be many reasons why we are trying to contact you and I am positive that they'll be an explanation behind everything.
I recommenced that your daughter-in-law replies to this email explaining the circumstances and the Energy Specialist in question will be able to go through everything and explain this charge / get rid of it if needed ๐ and please let her know not to worry as we'll get to the bottom of this.
Alternatively she can send us a email at: hi@eonnext.com and explain the situation (make sure she lets us know the address of the property associated with the charge). We are also here 24/7 on WhatsApp for her to reach us ๐.
