Today I have done something for the first time. I had a look at some Eon Next Twitter feeds. It may be that I'm old and naive but I was totally taken a back by some of the foul language, innuendos, and verbal abuse that the staff are subjected to from clients. Needless to say there were nice clients too π.
Time is tough for everyone but this is nothing new. The cost of living crisis isn't new! I've got the tee shirt from years gone by.
No I was born into a working class family! I have worked from my early teens to make a life for myself and later my family.
The great team on Eon Next Twitter are there to help not to be abused. I was brought up to be polite and respect others. Ok it doesn't mean I cannot be assertive.
I would like to congratulate those on the Twitter Team on there responses and handling techniques. I ask those who have a problem to think twice, imagine yourself as the team member and consider what you are saying or asking. We are all human.
Finally I apologise for this rambling but I was a little shell shocked.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie Thanks for that. I would like to add to my post that I don't use any of these weird 'social ' network things normally. Much prefer good old pen paper (may be chalk and slate even). Phones are for verbal communication and not much else. I can handle emails and faxes. I know what everyone is going to say, "I'm a grumpy old man". ππ΄ My grandkids call me silly grandad!
I was brought up the same as you, to be polite and respectful to others. It is not difficult to be assertive, without being abusive, but sadly that is the times we live in now.
My late dad used to say 'Courtesy and good manners cost nothing, so we should all use them'.
@Tommysgirl
Thank you for your kind words. I totally agree with you and your father. I'm sure problems would be resolved faster if a little priceless courtesy was used. Hey ho progress???!!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words π - I've shared this thread with the wider Digital E.ON Next team as its those are the folks that are dealing with everything on Twitter, Facebook & each and every WhatsApp message! I know for a fact this will be a major pick me up for everyone ππ.
The Community team works very closely with our public social team so you very well may have seen some of our own responses there! (sometimes we all can be like an Octopus π and be everywhere within the E.ON Next world!) And the team itself is headed by our very own @Beki_EONNext π. Although it can get very challenging at times, its all of your kind words and respect that makes it worth it π§‘.
