I have had 4 transactions tagged, "We refunded you" but all 4 charge me £67, this charge seems to counteract the HM GEBSS payment, which means the grant hasn't helped me out. Please can someone explain what is going on?
My account is currently in ~£230 debt, but after plugging statements into a spreadsheet and applying my payments and government grants I should be roughly breakeven. Conveniently the amount I'm in debt is about the same as these 4 mysterious "refunds".
Have you checked the bank account that the Direct Debit is linked-to? These refunds should have gone there. The refunds to a bank account will show as a debit to your energy account. Some customers had their DDs lowered by £67 per month to put the EBSS payments in their bank whilst others had refunds.
So, if your DD was not lowered by £67 per month then the EBSS will be credited to your energy account and then debited in the form of a refund to your bank. Either way it works out correct. The government pays £67 per month towards your energy and your bank account is £67 better off.

Reason: Added a bit
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
