Hi my electric prepay meter has a blank screen, I can’t top up or see what credit I have on the meter, I spoke to E-ON NEXT earlier and was advised to let the credit run out then dial 105 to report I have no supply, is this information correct.
Hello @Hornet600 Anasa here 👋 Welcome to the forum. 🤔 Were you asked to send pictures of your blank meter? I suspect that if you are off supply you'll get an appointment quicker as this would be classed as an emergency but if the meter is deemed faulty its something that can be booked there and then for you. If you haven't sent your pictures of your blank meter in to us please do so and mark the subject header as an emergency so that this can be looked at, it's not ideal to wait until you are off supply 😊

@Hornet600 That's really not on! I'm so sorry you felt dismissed 🤨.
Luckily, the meter is likely to be in what we call 'safety mode' and this is when the meter goes blank after experiencing a power cut 🔌. Please rest assured that the meter won't go off supply in this state, so don't worry about the electricity going off before your appointment.

I suspect the meter is dead, so there's not much else to recommend other than an Emergency Meter Exchange. This should be arranged by E.On, not the 105 line to your DNO

@Anasa_EONNext Hi Thanks for your reply. Yes I sent a video as requested, apparently an engineer visit is being requested an I’ll be notified when this happens, how long does it take to request one.
Hi @Hornet600 Thank you for the update! It can take between 2-3 hours to get back to you with an appointment at really busy times but we'll get back to you the same day and as fast as we can. I'm hoping you've been given an appointment now? 😊
@Han_EONNext Yes, the meter will be changed on the 18th May, not ideal because Ill be out of credit by then, I know that when I have no supply it will be escalated to a emergency, but waiting for it to go off with a six month old baby is worrying me.
