After over 8 months fighting to not sending data by gas smart meter and case logged to ombudsman they now want to over estimate my usage for last 2 months when battery in smart gas meter dead completely and I was waiting 2 months to engineer turn up to replace faulty gas meter.<br>
after this when my last six months usage was between 5.200 -5.800 kWh related to last year usage about 11.000 kWh in same period they trying to setup my estimate usage from 1 April for 7.900 kWh <br>
It's thives practice to ripp off costumer who half reduced his usage and waiting to take action to replace faulty smart meter which stopped sending data from August last year, they was blaming DCC instead sent engineer to replace faulty meter after it was reported in August 2022. Now e.on next want to over estimate my usage to overcharge me for last two months when battery on smart gas meter totally deaths. It's thives practice.<br><br& gt;
Hey @Martintel,

    I'm sorry you seem to have had a bit of a complicated journey so far, I'm really sorry it hasn't gone as smoothly as we would like. I have removed your first image as it contained sensitive data information.

    When we work out your annual consumption it is estimated based on previous usage at the proeprty (this is based on any previous readings we have had including estimates) the best way to ensure your EAC/AQ is accurate is to ensure that we receive regular readings.

    If you are currently paying a fixed direct debit each month for your usage you may find it beneficial to change to a variable direct debit instead where you are charged for what you use each month instead. Our energy specialists will be able to help you out with this if this is something you're considering.

    As for the address being incorrect this doesn't seem right I would contact an energy specialist and ask them to take a look at this for you to make sure your account is accurate and that we are not dealing with any crossed meter issues 😊

    There are things about your consumption in the WhatsApp chart that look odd to me. Jul-Sep 22 (warm months) average around 6300kWh per month whilst the figure for the three month period Oct-Dec 22 (cold months) totals 5874kWh which averages less than 2000kWh per month. Is the figure of 5874 an average monthly usage for the period?

    I live in a large four bedroom detached house and use gas for heating, hot water and cooking hob. My highest monthly consumption in the last year was in December at just over 3000kWh.

    I don't know what size house you live in or what consumes gas but these figures just don't look right to me. Perhaps I'm missing something.
    I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

    It's estimated yearly usage after from statements for example in December and January 2022 it was estimated usage for whole year about 11.000 kWh same period estimated yearly usage 2023 was about 5200 kWh. But from march 2023 when I wasn't able to provide usage for February and march because battery in gas meter was death they estimated my yearly usage for 7.900 kWh. Totally thives.

    I am on variable direct debit but your costumer service overestimate my usage from march 2023 when I wasn't able to provide you readings because battery was death. Until battery was alright and I was able to provide you manually usage my yearly estimate usage was going down in last 6 months from yearly estimate usage 11.000 kWh in 2022 to 5.200 kWh in February 2023. But after your costumer service tardiness to sent engineer to replace meter with faulty battery your company is overestimate my usage from march 2023 to 7.900 kWh. It's totally thives. When you add over 50 % estimate yearly usage in next month related to previous months decreasing usage.!!!

    If you pay by variable DD it doesn’t matter what they estimate your annual usage as because you only pay for what you actually use each month.

    @JoeSoap
I know but how you seen my estimate yearly usage was jumped from 5.200 in January bill to 7.900 kWh in estimate yearly usage in march price change letter. And after they will overcharge me for months when I was not able to provide them readings because they not care to send engineer to replace faulty meter instead blame DCC to lost connection when after in next 4 month gas meter totally stopped working. Why I have to pay for they tardiness??? They jumped my yearly estimate usage 50 % related to last bill for two last month when I was not able to provide them readings by not my fault!!! Do you thing it's alright when estimate yearly usage jumping 50 % when in previous months usage was decreased when I was able to provide them meter readings?
I think you have to take this one month at a time. When you get a bill, if they estimate the monthly gas reading they will probably use the same month last year to arrive at a figure. If you think it is too high then you should raise a complaint and state your reason as briefly and clearly as you can and also try to hasten the fitting of a new meter every time you contact them.
