After a lot of number crunching I deduced that on 1st April I would be worse off with my fixed tariff than I would be on NextFlex so I arranged to switch to the variable tariff on the big day itself.
A few hours ago I got an email telling me, '' We've reduced your prices... Good news...,'' and that they've reduced my fixed tariff prices as they wanted to make sure people like me on a fixed tariff got the same benefit as those on a variable tariff. Knowing I was switching to NextFlex anyway I just skim-read the email but I immediately thought that I needn't have bothered switching.
I've now received another email telling me they sent the wrong email earlier and that I will now pay more for my energy on my fixed tariff than I would if I was on NextFlex. So, I did make the right call to switch.
When I re-read the first email I noticed that the 'Good News' took effect from 1st October... presumably last year.
The mind boggles that they could make such an error.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Same here on fixed rate until June but app shows increase on daily tariff on electricity why?
Best wait until the dust settles and the correctly adjusted tariffs show in everyone's online account. The app has had alot of issues, judging by the posts over the last few months, so I'd be wary of it being the exclusive source of information especially with the tariff information ATM. 😬
EDIT: Have you checked the attachment that came with the second email? 🧐
Look on page 2/2 - the 'Your Prices' section. Mine show the correct numbers (at least for Next Flex) that match up with the House of Commons rate cards.

The important parts appear to be correct. 😁
Mine shows my fixed rate prices (old and new). The only change happening from 1st April is a rise of 0.266p in the gas unit rate which amounts to a projected annual increase of £50.92. Hopefully my new NextFlex rates will show later when my tariff changes as requested (and confirmed) 🤞
Edit… these new fixed rate prices are also already showing in my Eon Next app.
So sorry that this caused you all confusion 😞 there were a number of people who received an email in error 🙈 as you've mentioned we issued a 2nd email to the people that were affected showing the correct information, which I can see you all have. If you have any questions or you're still unsure get in touch with our energy specialists they will be more than happy to help you out 😊
