My mother had an Electric glitch on Tuesday (very quick off and on), since then the Smart meter in cost has increased by at least £3 per day.
On 23 March she used 46.29Kwh for £9.84
On 24 March she used 47.73Kwh for £9.78
On 25 March she used 47.97Kwh for £10.10
On 26 March she Used 47.23Kwh for £9.69
On 27 March she used 58.70Kwh for £11.40
On 28 March she used 48.11Kwh for £12.68
and when I looked this morning at 9.20am the IHD was reading 37.70Kwh for £10.77
The timeclocks for the Storage heaters are in sync with the smart meter and come on during midnight and 6am.
The smart meter day rate (price) hasn't changed, but I'm unable to find out about the night rate price from the meter.
My mother is 84 years old and is worried about the fact that the cost has suddenly gone up when nothing has changed, and we don't know what caused the 10Kwh increase on the 27th March.
The first thing that springs to my mind is that the clocks changed on Sunday at 2am. I'm not sure how this affects the Economy 7 timings but I'll have a root around the forum to see what I can find.
Edit... it seems the issue of GMT/BST is pertinent but I can't be sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree. See this post here for more details. Maybe @meldrewreborn can help with this.

Reason: Added a bit.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I did wonder about this whilst sitting down with a mug of tea, and thought about changing all the timeclocks manually back an hour and see what happens.
I'm afraid i can't add much to what is in the long post. Prices haven't changed yet (1 April SC up units down a tad - no great overall effect) But the consumption of electricity at peak rates after the clock change rather than off peak could well be the answer.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
