As another one of the public who browse here, I'd suggest that you upload the last 2 statements and meter read history details (with personal information redacted/blanked out) and we might be able to pontificate on what might have gone wrong again. Otherwise it is a call to Eon Next on Monday for CS to resolve as they should have access to the details that are unseen to us in the forums. We could theorise but without this extra detail in addition to the transaction numbers listed, it is hard to comment definitively on what may have happened. 👍

@Mailman smart meter stopped pulling meter readings for 103 days so the whole account is in a big mess it seems despite me giving the correct reading today.

You may have given a correct reading today but the last three months readings would have been estimated. Now you are caught up, your billing will be recalculated and everything will come out in the wash.

Thank you for sharing the meter reads. But without seeing statement(s) as per my previous post very difficult to make an informed comment about your situation.

Are those readings gas or electricity? If they are gas then they will be cubic metres, not units.

And is that £950 just for gas or electric, or is it the total bill for both fuels?

As already asked twice by myself and @Mailman, can you please upload the pertinent sections from the last two bills rather than the transaction summary. Without seeing how they've calculated the usage between multiple periods, we have no way of inferring what has been going on.

We need to see screenshots of the PDF bills, like this:





We need to see the previous balance from the last bill, the unit calculations for both fuels and the latest total at the end of the billing period. The extracts from my old bills only show electricity as I don't use gas.

@Mailman this is the most recent breakdown - on 18th feb they meter has sent them a completely different value.

There's the error on 18th Feb 2024, a 'Final Reading'. I can't be certain but I would think that this 'Final Reading' has been added manually by mistake by an employee of E.on-Next.

I would phone them and make another complaint, citing that they have closed your previous complaint without fully investigating, they have entered a spurious reading causing a vastly excessive bill etc. Ask for compensation due to the worry of receiving such an excessively high bill....

It looks like another customer is leaving them and they've entered it on the wrong account, personally I've found that mistakes like this are on the increase across organisations because standards and diligence are dropping amongst other reasons.
