While it does depend upon the price of energy, the savings on LED lamps are so great, that despite their additional purchase price, they deliver overall savings in just a few months, if not weeks. The other point about dimmable LED lamps is that they often require a new dimming control, which adds to the purchase cost. I have only one dimming control in a room that is rarely used at night so I've not bothered to replace those lamps.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Interesting it was Philips LEDs that failed. I think the only Philips ones I have are dimmable candles and dimmable GU10s, neither of which required a new dimmer switch. The other dimmable lights I have are halogen capsules by necessity due to the fittings. All the other LEDs I have are Tesco brand.
Depending on how much use a particular bulb gets, I agree the cost can be recouped quite quickly. I do believe some will continue with the old bulbs to avoid the initial outlay though.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Hey lovelies as much as I love your passion for lightbulbs 💡 can we try to keep this thread on the topic of support on offer just so it doesn't get too messy, perhaps you could start a new thread in the energy saving board about LED's as it seems to be a great discussion piece 😊
