the AFP is for those who don’t use gas OR electricity to heat their home. The lack of a gas meter is no more than an indication of using non grid fuels. It has apparently been accepted that some who use electricity will get the AFP incorrectly, but ensuring all properly entitled to it is not straightforward.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Has anyone with Eon had the Alternative fuel payment? we use oil and wood and should have been paid by now
Hi,
We havent had ours yet. Had a long Whatsapp conversation with someone from EON today which was no help at all . I couldnt get an explanation as to why we don't have it and the person I spoke to didn't even seem aware that it was supposed to be paid by 28th.
In actual fact I have asked EON 3 times about this and none of them have any idea.
Looks like I'll try the govt portal when it opens but they expect you to contact your supplier first if you havent had it by 28th Feb
We have a neighbour with Eon and she was paid last week!!! when I rang Eon they told me it would be paid by the end of Feb, I rang on the 28th!!!!!! the Gov site seems to be for those in Park Homes, Landlords etc, I just hope there is some way to get it!
@tilly I dont expect it to be easy. Just seems a very unfair way of doing things that some get it and others dont. They know who has a gas meter so should have asked questions of those customers who don't.
@tilly Anasa here 👋 Welcome to the forum! It's great to have you here! I'm just popping on to see if you have had the alternative fuel payment yet? 👀 I can see that @Magnus was also waiting? 😊
