Has EON stopped sending paper bills?

We don't pay by direct debit and for years have paid on receipt of a posted paper bill. I submitted meter readings on 24th January, but nothing was heard from EON. This week we have received 3 messages on our answer phone which transpires are from EON debt collection team in India (such was the unprofessional nature of the call we thought it was a scam).

This is extremely sharp practice and just as well we weren't away on holiday, otherwise we would have been cut off, or debt collectors sent to the property.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I'm thinking of a complaint as the manner of the calls is really unreasonable.

Hello @CarlPentney Anasa here 👋 I'm so sorry to hear that you've not had the best experience regarding your bills. There could be a few reasons as to why you did not get a bill one could be the delayed post due to the strikes or it could have got lost in the post, if you manage your account on line have you changed your settings without realising as there is an option to receive online bills only, have you recently changed your tariff where you can online bills only? f you get in touch with one our our Digi Energy Specialist we'll get to the bottom of this for you and of course raise a complaint with your concerns about the way it was handled.

if you paid by direct debit after receipt of the bill ( so you don’t have to do anything to pay) you would save £250 pa as an average customer. I read that DD is used by 56% of customers, and then there are those on prepayment meters too but yours is the most expensive way to pay because many of those doing the same don’t pay up on time or don’t pay up at all.

it’s up to you how you pay but DD after receipt of bill would save you lots of money and possibly worry.

the post isn’t all that reliable nowadays, as you have found out.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

@meldrewreborn thanks for your response. I was really annoyed at the really heavy handed approach more than anything. Anyway, I might consider a variable DD. Is this a call into Eon or can it be done online?
