The relevant section is (Appendix 4) on pages 30 and 31 - no change from previous implementations of DFS yet section 3 (in-day adjustment) seems to have been totally ignored for the Feb 13th event.

We had no idea about this. Only information we had from Eon was that any payment would be based on reducing consumption compared to 'average' consumption. No explanation on how this average was calculated eg time of day or period average. I will try to find out more. Thank you!
Well I never knew my original post would gather so much interest.
I had never heard of this "in day adjustment" and TBH don't completely understand it 😂. I simply read the emails from E.on Next.
On Feb 13th I managed to reduce our usage by 83%, that equated to 35 whole British pennies 😂
I've worked out what I did yesterday. My 'normal consumption' was 0.793kWh in the event period 1730-1830. Managed to use only 0.164 kWh as cooking was finished before 1730 and sat down to watch Mrs Richards in an episode of 'Watery Towels' on the PC so a reduction of (0.793-0.164) 0.629 kWh. Eon Next pay £3/kWh reduction it seems so I make that £3x0.629 = £1.88p or £1.89 depending on the rounding and assumes no in-day adjustment as has now been advised elsewhere.
Better than nothing for only a very minor inconvenience but less than is offer by some other energy suppliers (Octopus) but more than others (Shell). Hugo and Loop are apps worth looking at for possibly larger DFS rewards whilst staying with your energy supplier.
