I had a new boiler installed in September. The old one was 25 years old so expecting to see some reduction in gas usage this year, but wondering when this reduced usage will trigger my direct debit payments to be recalculated? I'm still paying the same monthly direct debit as I was in September. How often does usage get checked? Do I need to speak to EON to trigger a recalculation?
DDs are normally set for the year ahead using the previous year's consumption. A new boiler should be more efficient but the actual consumption over a given period will also depend on how much time it's fired up for. You can compare the last few month's consumption against the same period last year to get an idea of where you're at and use the calculations to negotiate a new monthly amount. The amount will also depend on what your account balance currently is. You should be able to drop your DD by up to 10% in your online account. It may not be as much as you'd like to drop it by but it's quick and easy to do and is in your control.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Good evening @Stompers It's great to have you here! I'm Anasa one of the Community Co - ordinators. I certainly hope you do see somewhat of a reduction with your new boiler, we can review your payment any time you just need to let us know via any of our social media platforms or by giving one of our Digi Energy Specialist's a call they'll go through everything on your account and review your monthly payments.
@JoeSoap mentioned you can also review your own payments any time via your online account within 10%, we'd love to see here about your journey with your new boiler or any changes in your energy usage in the next few months so please pop back 😊
