@Mailman I will certainly post them here albeit from loop and not Eon Next so I don't even get an email with "suggested savings figures"
Just for info the following will be shifted to that 3 hours period 1pm-4pm today
2 loads of washing
Tumble dryer load
Monthly drum clean of the washing machine
Dishwasher load not put on last night saved til today
Oven on to cook food for later int he heat for reheating in microwave etc
Legionella burn on the hot water (all electric ASHP here)
We both work from home so unless out we intend to maximise these events to the formula set by the national grid.
On a different note (but related), has anyone received more than the 'could earn' amount suggested in the initial email from Eon Next?
I too got more than was offered when I did a trial. From memory I was offered around 50p to reduce by 20%. I did nothing more than switch off what wasn't needed during the hour in question and actually reduced by 69% and got £2.15. Trouble was there was little enthusiasm amongst my household and it was like herding sheep running around moaning and switching lights off after people. I resolved not to try again but have signed up to this one. I'll keep it to myself until the last minute and just switch off what's not needed then see what happens.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@JoeSoap
I received an email invitation from Eon Next last night saying I could earn £0.10p from tonight's event so I won't be bothering.
It doesn't seem worth it. I think that the more you beat the target by, the more you earn. However, if you're a low user at that time anyway there probably isn't so much incentive.
Going to go with 1 wash + 1 heat pump tumble dry thereafter before 5pm. Will possibly run my dehumidifier for a couple of hours shortly. Gas CH will be used until approx 4.45 so no CH pump thereafter until probably 7 pm at least. Steak and Mushrooms pies will have their final cook in the air fryer from about 4.30 pm after meat being slow cooked this afternoon . Expect to eat at 5pm and just watch the iPlayer on my PC between 5 and 6 pm with minimal lighting - I may turn off the FF for an hour as well.
I should be able to reduce by 20% easily doing all this but I'm more interested in seeing if using more than usual in the period before the event translates to a higher payment than the 55p stated in my email if I beat the 20% reduction. Up until today we've concentrated almost entirely on using less in the event hour.
Even if I only get the 55p reward, that is approx 1.5kWh of electricity roughly what the heat pump tumble dry will cost today. Anything more will take care of the washing machine cost for the day as well.
