It's NOT a payment, it's a discount. Paid for by all the rest of us bill payers through our standing charges. Not taxpayers money like other government schemes, but billpayers money.
Until the VOA confirm your eligibility to the energy suppliers, which is the bit that seems to be taking the time to sort out, you will ONLY get the discount automatically if you receive the Guaranteed Credit Element of Pension Credit. Anyone in the broader group also has to qualify on the grounds of a 'high heat cost home' which is the VOA's part of the scheme. If you have had a letter from the DWP, that just confirms you are eligible on the benefits side of things.
The scheme is completely different from previous years. Many who got it in the past will not get it this year. Many who never had the discount before WILL get it this year.
Those who do qualify will have the discount applied by 31/3/23. If you have a standard prepayment meter, you will receive the discount in the form of vouchers.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -

It does seem a cack-handed system this year. Especially not asking those entitled to the payment aren't asked which supplier they are with.
Probably should be called Spring Home Discount
One of the things that makes it harder for those of us waiting for our payments is the fact that Eon Next bill us monthly not quarterly -
I wouldn't think that Eon Next would wait for Novembers' bill to be paid at the end of March so why should we? -
Hey @gbhxu, I understand that it is frustrating waiting however as @retrotecchie has mentioned above the scheme runs until 31/03/23 so if you are eligible then you should receive this by then ๐"Green is the prime colour of the world and that from which it's loveliness arises"-Pedro Calderon De La Barca ๐ณ

Any chance of finding out what the hold up is?

@gbhxu
Has the deadline passed yet?
While I recognise that you could do with the payment - it isn't late yet.
Others might have paid out - good for them. If you feel that E.On Next are not a good supplier in this and other regards you are free to switch to another supplier. The more people that do that would be good because it might make E.On Next up their game.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio.
