You say 'paid into their account'. Do you mean energy account, or bank account?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Thanks Han. As I don't need another delivery of oil until early summer, that means whatever I don't spend on electricity can go into the 'dragon food' kitty. 👍😎
We have oil-fired central heating, but there is also a gas main close by. We do not have a gas meter. I'm led to believe our payment will not be automatic and that I 'may have to apply' via a portal on www.gov.uk but I cannot locate anything. Has anyone else had this problem?
Same here. Our postcode covers a dozen houses on a short side road. There is a gas main running down the main road to serve new estates, but no spur was ever run our way. However our next door neighbour paid for a narrow pipe to run the 90m to his house, and I think the house on the corner of the main road may have got connected via the main pipe. As a result the postcode checker thinks we all "have gas"
As I understand it the application portal will not be ready until end February
@beeceegee There was no gas main when our estate was built, heating was either oil-fired or electric storage. Eventually gas did arrive and folks started to swap over when their oil-fired boilers began to need replacing. We stayed with oil and are now one of only three houses locally.
I am not sure how we will know where, when, or how to access the portal when it does open.

Thanks for your update via this Community Forum.
How will we be notified that the payment ‘has been released’ and when is this likely to be?
Our concerns are that we live in a small hamlet where we all use oil to heat our homes.
It will be reassuring to know that this is recognised…..
