Why are there two similar huge amounts posted on the same day? What is the explanation for that?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn We are looking into it but no amounts have actually been taken for the bill. The bill has been held as with the two charges raised, you know as much as we do at this moment in time.
Looks like the two charges were raised based on two sets of incorrect and transposed reads, but no official bill sent.
The reads are definitely an issue but I've pulled smart reads it's only actually giving me a day rate!.. don't worry we will solve this and it won't be behind the scenes but I need to do a bit more digging about the meter type and what was actually installed...
The customer can't get a R2 read and we can't pull one... but someone has put them in on 6th and 7th dec which has resulted in the two crazy amounts...and cust has a two rate tariff...

@SteffiT I've just pulled some reads from your smart meter and it has only pulled through a day rate... nothing for the night rate.. when you provided the last lot of reads were you able to get two sets of reads?
We have more than one issue I think going on with this, I can see that prior to this you had a two rate meter so the it makes sense that the meter was exchanged, like for like. Our system shows that you have a two rate meter and has data for the night reads and you have a two rate tariff but a bit concerned about not being able to pull a Night read and you weren't able to get any further on your screen?

UPDATE I have been able to pull both the Day and the Night read! so we do have a confirmed 2 rate meter and its the reads on the 6 Dec that are incorrect and I'll get that sorted.
@SteffiT did mention she was unsure about entering reads so one of those entries are likely an error because of that.
Or is it a case where someone specifically upgraded to dual rate to charge an electric car overnight, or something, and just had to have the meter upgraded anyway? Not likely unless you have a record of the meter change payment of £140-odd on the account history as lots of people have been told they can't have this for free.
@meldrewreborn Good question! Yes it was a two rate meter prior, 3rd December seems to all be in order and has the charges @SteffiT confirmed, so no issues with that the other charges appeared on 6 December.
