@JoeSoap thanks for your help but I have tried that and they ask questions I haven’t the answers to like when was your house built and how many sq metres is it?? I rent so don’t know, I feel like I am going round in circles it’s very disappointing when you just want a straightforward answer

Ah sorry about that. I suppose the bottom line is that you don’t have to apply this year anyway, but it would be nice to know if you’re eligible or not.
Hi lizzypot55 I'm sure there are many asking the same question has you have you received this previously? I'm sure even thou your pension is the new one that you are still eligible low incomes and benefits like housing ect mean you need help I'm sorry I can't say yes or give you more advise , could you contact anyone regards your benefit help lines and ask those or citizens advise maybe ? Hope you get some answers 🙏
If you get housing benefit, you should qualify on the income requirements. If so you will get a letter through between now and February from the DWP confirming if you are eligible. If so, you will get the discount. Whether you qualify for the 'high heating cost' part of the criteria...another story entirely.
