It doesn't, it circulates the whole list to all the suppliers for them to match up. Fills you with confidence? No?
Which actually breaks the rules of the Data Protection Act, as it happens. I'm perfectly happy for E.On Next to know my co-habitant's details which she has agreed for me to pass on for the purposes of such things, but it's absolutely no business of British Gas or EDF knowing that she's differently-abled.
But yes....it contravenes various pieces of legislation. I'm fine with E.On Next knowing my house is occupied by a person of limited mobility, but it is not information that BG, OVO, Octopus or EDF should need, require or be privy to.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
I can't post a new thread so I'm hoping someone might see this.
Has anyone had their January £67 payment yet, I've had a bill yesterday but it wasn't taken off it?

No, mine hasn't been credited yet either. Han and Beki from Eon Next both posted yesterday that the payments are being applied to accounts today,(later than usual because of the Bank Holiday). If the payments are being applied today, the credits will probably not show on our accounts until tomorrow at the earliest. The Bank Holiday didn't stop them taking payments for bills though!

Reason: Adding info
@Tommysgirl thank you, no it doesn't stop them from producing a bill, I'm now in debit and it says on my bill that they will take this on the 19th but if I had had the £67 I would be in credit only by a few pounds like so I don't know how it'll work now.

Sorry for not replying earlier, I've just got back from the supermarket. When the £67 is credited today or in the next day or two, it should generate a revised bill reflecting the £67 credit, and your account will be back in credit again.😀
@Deviljane666
@Tommysgirl is absolutely correct, as soon as the £67 hits your account, the account will simply make up for the debit and go into credit of what is left 😊

@gbhxu & @retrotecchie Certainly some interesting and important questions coming up here! I have taken this to the powers that be (aka, know the answer). The DWP won't give every supplier under the sun your details, they will only give what is needed to the needed suppliers 😊.
