I don't have a in house display I tried to request one but they said they put one in this property in 2017 I have only been back in the UK 2 years so I think the tenant must have took it and they won't supply me with one surely this can't be right
And if they are visible and working and sending regular readings back to E.On Next, you could try downloading the Bright App which will give you much the same functionality on an Apple or Android device.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I can certainly recommend the Hildebrand Bright App but if my memory serves me correctly you need a number (GUID I think it was) from the IHD to use the app. Certainly worth a try though.
Edit… I read elsewhere that without the GUID you need to supply a copy of your bill to prove your address. Apparently that gives you access to the app.

To have a live display on the coffee table, you don't have to wait for the clowns at Yawn-Next to find something specific for your smart meter. I don't have a smart meter, and I look at household net current by having the clippy thingy around the (safe) outside of the meter tails which shows approximate net kW by wifi to the display on the coffee table. With some limitations, it mostly shows what I need to know such as "can I use the microwave from free rooftop solar electricity right now?". Mine was less than sixty pounds from Efergy.
For individual appliance testing, I prefer the plug in energy monitor, which shows kWh through one UK three pin socket, and can answer such as for example, "how many kWh did the fridge use last week?"
When you say you don’t think the gas meter is sending readings does that mean you are unsure? It will say in your online account and statements if smart readings are being taken. If they are not then it is best to send a manual reading every month to keep your account up to date. Have you contacted customer service about this?
PS… did you ever get a new IHD or download any apps?
Usually Eon Next insist that you keep sending in manual readings. Have you used the citizens advice smart meter checker to try to establish where the fault lies?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
