The thread has dealt with a few separate issues and has become convoluted. The tariff rates currently showing in the eon next app are correct and in line with the EPG. The rates originally quoted were probably those applicable to NextFlex at the time the quote was issued.
The IHD is a separate issue which, looking back, I addressed in my second post on the thread. It still needs updating, which I think is what you were referring to.
Confusing, innit?
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Having only just got a smartphone a few days ago, it took me two days to figure out how to answer a call and I had to Google that. I did download the E.On Next app but it doesn't do anything I can't do easier, faster and with more screen 'real estate' on my tablet PC, other than turn the phone's flash on as a torch, presumably to let me read my meter easier? Only, I already have a torch in my meter cupboard...

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Incidentally, SWMBO has an Apple phone. My last ten or so phones have been Nokia 'bricks'. In every case, and on my landline phone, press green to answer and red to reject the call. Logical, and how it's been for 30 years. Press the green icon on the new phone? Nada. Apparently you have to swipe it to answer...
Reading back I can now see that your quote for Next Flex was issued on 30th September so you would indeed have been quoted the old (cheaper) rates, even though they rose the very next day on 1st October. When your fix ended on 31st October you were expecting to switch to Next Flex on the old quoted rates so were understandably shocked to find you were on the new dearer rates when you saw them in your app. It's of no comfort but at least you know that these rates are correct and you're not being over-charged. At least, no more than the rest of us.
Thank you again Joe and all other contributors to this thread. I now have a clearer understanding but just wish that my Smart meter gave correct readings and that the electricity usage could be displayed on other apps such as Hugo, Bright, ivie and Loop. Gas usage is displayed but not electricity. Grr
You’re very welcome. It really is quite easy to get the IHD updated. I asked for an update by WhatsApp and had success after a two week wait. If you are having trouble getting it done after requesting it then you could raise a complaint by emailing unhappy@eonnext.com.
