I can still access the webpage (via my phone as heard it doesn’t always access on different browsers?) and it specifically states my average and the amount to reduce by
@andydragon
Wow you are so right. I can view the page on my Android phone but not on my Windows computer using Edge.
My Energy Shift target was Reduce your electricity usage Tuesday 15/11/2022 From 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm 40% reduction Your typical use 1.72kwh Reduce by 0.69kwh
I needed to be under 1.03 kWh and my actual energy usage for the hour was 0.652 kWh so it was reduced by 1.068 kWh which is a reduction of 62% so I was well within the target.
On the other hand the SI unit for power is the Watt (W) but Eon are talking about watts (w). It would be reasonable to expect an energy company to use the correct units.
Indeed. Being an engineer, units matter to me. Seeing kwh irks me almost as much as people talking about 'smart metres' 😜
I suspect those working on this scheme are 'bean counters' and not technical folk.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
My test period was 17:00-18:00, during this period my usage shown by my eon IHD never went above 60w and i still failed, how low do you have to go.
they do not say in the email by how much you missed it by or what you usage was during the period, could it be we are too good and eon will be paying out too much.
The sad thing is eon have not been showing hourly usage history on the website for over a year, the App for what it is worth only gives highest and lowest days kWh readings.
I just wanted to let you all know that the concerns raised on this thread about the scheme are with our Energy Shift team who are looking into this.
Whilst the first event was a pilot where only some customer were contacted to take part, all of the data is being looked at by the team and they should have some answers around this soon, once we know more, we'll let you know 😊

I was also notified I had failed the energy shift but have just received email correcting their error. So thanks everyone for discussing and raising awareness.
You reduced your energy usage by 85% which means you'll get £3.13 credited to your account.
just got my updated results through. gone from 12% reduction & a fail, to now 92% reduction & success, which was more in line with our expectations considering we only spent 3p on elec in the slot. there's no point making these mini sacrifices if I wasn't 99%+ sure we'd hit the target . Thanks Eon next for sorting this one out promptly. happy to take part
in any future energy shift events, because otherwise it would have been pointless to even try again with the first results... , if spending 3p is only a 12% reduction.
Methinks some 'calibration issues' behind the scenes. Glad it's all sorted. So 12 'test days' at potentially £3 or so per day...perhaps £40. Not quite the £100 that the media have been saying, then?
Thanks Eon next for sorting this one out promptly. happy to take part in any future energy shift events, because otherwise it would have been pointless to even try again with the first results... , if spending 3p is only a 12% reduction.
Well done to everyone getting their updated Energy Shift results. It's early days and as the starter of the now infamous "Energy Shift is a CON" thread I'm still waiting for news. I'm not sure if my community account is linked to my Eon customer account?
