Hi, smart meter not working for over a week. I have tried the recommended options but still nothing. Have messaged eon next, not heard back...is there just an easy way to order a new smart meter? Couldn't see anything when logged into my account but obsession with see what we are spending means I'm going mad at the moment!! Thanks 😊
Whilst awaiting a reply to your message to customer service can you be more specific as to what is not working. Is it just the IHD? We have a volunteer smart meter expert who helps out here. If you can post photos of the meter(s), Comms Hub and IHD then perhaps @theunknowntech can assist. Also if you can describe what the lights on the comms hub (HAN/WAN etc) are doing in terms of On or Off, what colour, if flashing then at exactly what rate, it will help with diagnosis.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Thanks for posting. That's actually the In-Home Display (IHD). Have you checked on your actual meter(s) to see if it/they are able to give you information?
As a workaround, until you get this resolved, you could try downloading the Hildebrand Bright App to your smartphone if you have one. It's a great app and tells you your consumption in kWh and £££s down to half-hourly readings, as long as your smart meter is set to send half-hourly data. It might work or it might not. Worth a shot.

Again, some photos of the meter(s) and Comms Hub and a description of what the lights are doing will give our expert a better chance of helping.

I know that it is really hard and frustrating waiting for customer service to get back to you but in the mean time you can also try to reset it, perhaps closer to meter ?
You need to start a complaint against Eon, it took 5 months and £80 in compensation to get new smart meters fitted after my old ones stopped sending readings.

Hi, so still nothing from eon next. I have given up on the in home display thing as it seems the main problem is neither smart meters are sending any readings? So I have direct manual readings for now. I installed an app, connect both smart meters, 6 days later it still can't get data from either meters. Is there anything I can do on the meters to "reconnect" them, reboost them or something?? Thanks
All the apps rely on the meters being visible on the network. They do not communicate directly with the meters as your phone/tablet can't talk to them across the HAN.
