Hi,
Was just wondering if anybody is having a bother getting a faulty prepayment metre replaced. Im aware that they no longer deal with the old key metres so smart pay as you go or a normal credit metre is the way ti go.
But on every phonecall I have made I keep getting different solutions that eventually lead to a dead end as I never get contacted for appointment.
Stressing what sort of debt I'm running can't top up although now being told can with government payment. What's the difference??
WIting for phone call tomorrow for update but am I expectin too much??
If it's any consolation, the woman in our local PO is a right grumpy old trout too. I'd much rather do the 18 mile round trip to the next nearest one where they are a bit more polite, useful and switched on.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Yeah have been doing. Just wondered if anyone else was having this same issue with eon going round in circles 😄 sure I'll get it done sorted at somepoint. Thanks for your help
@Fishwife Anasa here 👋 Thank you so much for your patience! when a meter goes faulty like yours and we can't replace it straight away your account will go in 'free vend' you won't be but cut off whilst the issue is being sorted out or get a massive bill in the mean time. If you top up with your voucher it will go onto your meter and will show on your account, you just won't be able to see how much you have used from your meter, do you have the App?
Let us know how you get on, if you don't hear an update by the end of the week, I'll see if we can get some sort of time scale for you 😊

New problem, I went to post office to get barcode scanned to be told I can't get all my discount credited because I still have money on key. Can get it put on once key has been cleared. I can't get it cleared because of the faulty metre and will be getting a credit metre instead whenever eon decides to phone. Have I lost out again?
There is a limit to the amount of cash you can top up the key with. I was under the impression that 'supplier credits' worked slightly differently and didn't affect the cash limit.
The vouchers are valid for 90 days, so there is nothing to stop you rinsing your cash on the key for a couple of weeks, and then using the voucher to top up.
@Fishwife Anasa here 👋 under the circumstances if you're not going to be given a credit meter instead I would not cash in your vouchers on your current key, although if you did we'd transfer that credit over to your account so you wouldn't lose it, but it might be best to wait until you have your new credit meter and we'll then have to find a way to issue the two vouchers you've not been able to use.
@retrotecchie is correct there should not be a limit on your key when topping up the vouchers, if you were topping up normally yes but not with vouchers so perhaps the cashier was mistaken? Did she attempt to top up the voucher and get an error or just look at the amount already on your key? 🤔
