They said computers would lead to a 'paperless office'...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Always saw one before being transferred over from Eon .
I think it's down to whether you supply your own readings or not. I did monthly reads and never saw a meter reader for years, I don't read my Mums but a reader visits at least once a year.

That would make sense, I started manual readings after finding out my smart meters were not sending info back. That has now been rectified but I still manually read them at the month end. I did not however experience the levels of mix ups on my account when they were read by a visiting meter reader I wondered whether their method of sending readings in was dealt with more “ professionally “by the energy companies. Could be a coincidence I suppose looking at all the other problems customers are having at the moment.
The supplier has to get a reading if not otherwise supplied once a year.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I wouldn't rely on them sending someone regularly to read your meters.
I'm in South Wales and last time they sent someone to read my meters was March '2021'.
Prior, to that they didn't read my meters for nearly 2 years, so ended up owing them a stupid amount of money.
Thankfully I was able to pay off the debt before all these Price hikes!
Incidentally, once I was in debt I saw the meter reader 3 times over the course of 9 months. Think I was getting on their nerves by sending weekly readings. I now submit my meter readings every 4 weeks - 'once bitten twice shy' as they say.
If possible try to read them yourself every month or ask someone to do it for you at least every quarter.
I haven’t seen a meter reader for either supplier in many years. But I do submit regular readings myself. My gas supplier asked for multiple readings in the summer this year, because my solar panel was supplying all my hot water and the meter unit = 33kWh, so not moving - even cooking was limited because it was so hot.
