We receive your half-hourly data in the background on your account - we don't place these on your online account as each Smart reading we receive (still will be monthly on the face of your account) we bill you to.
This was, we're then not billing you every half-hour/filling up your meter reading history with all of the readings.

If your on line account showed half hourly readings, it would be a mile long. 48 readings a day, per fuel. The account should only show the readings used for actual billing purposes. The 30 minute interval readings are for demand management and usage monitoring only.
From what I understand, the data packets sent by the meters have different headers for billing and monitoring, so the readings go to two separate destinations.
The data packets to the meters (Read requests) are also headered differently so the meter knows what it is being asked for.
Thanks ,my online account used to show smart meter readings approx every 10 days, I wouldn’t expect to see half hourly reading obviously, but no smart meter reading have been updated to the online account I view for a while now. As I see it if I wanted to take part in the trial I would want to see more regular readings online,as I haven’t access to a IHDU.
The data will be there, but there are lots of random delays updating online accounts at times. Hopefully, @PeterT_EONNext has reassured you that for the purposes of the exercise, everything is tootling along just nicely behind the scenes 😎
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Yes I’m all good now thank you.Just need to decide whether it’s worth giving the trial a runout or not . We’ ll see.

I received an invite by email at the beginning of November I’m unsure if my account was chosen at random by Eon Next.It would appear you cannot apply to take part at this present time.
The team behind this are running a pilot which is taking place currently - we're unable to confirm an exact time when others will be contacted (those who have received the email to take part, did so on or around 3rd November)
They've advised today that over the coming weeks, they'll be increasing the contact to others who have a working Smart Meter with half-hourly readings enabled, and opted into marketing, so you may be contacted in the coming weeks in relation to this.
@PeterT_EONNext Hi Peter, how would the usage calculation work for customers with solar PV? During October my consumption was largely covered by self-generated electricity. This won't be the case for most of the Winter period. I have a grid-chargeable battery, so I could avoid grid consumption almost entirely during any given peak period.
