HelloI had a smart meter installed today for gas and electricity. However, the unit rates and the daily standing charge rates are not correct on the smart meter and don't match my actual tariff. How do I get this updated?
I think from reading other posts a tariff update needs to be pushed through to my smart meter perhaps?
It generally takes six weeks from installation until smart meters start working properly so personally I would sit tight for at least that amount of time before trying to chase things.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@CarolineMalley
@JoeSoap is absolutely correct. When extolling the virtues of smart meters they forgot to mention that? Tut Tut - i think all suppliers do the same. We get lots of queries on here about smart meters, but us volunteers have no ability to actually change things because we have no access to your account, and this forum is not intended to be a backdoor to customer services.
But here you'll get impartial advice and quicker answers on how best to go about resolving your issue.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Just as well the same isn't true of your TV, fridge, phone, washing machine, microwave, or your car. If smart meters were any other product, punters would be screaming for their money back.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
If the energy industry hadn't p***ed £13 billion (and ongoing) of billpayers money on the smart meter debacle, we'd all have much cheaper tariffs anyway.
... but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
