We can't afford 'dinner'. Got a job lot of out-of-date beef and tomato Hot Poodles cheap from a convenience store in the next but one village, so that's us sorted up until Christmas. If the wife over-fills the kettle, we occasionally share a warm one.
I'm kidding...we do actually have one each.
Sorry to be a bit 'woke', but we can't say 'naughty' anymore, I hear. 'Behaviourally challenged', perchance?Last edited by retrotecchie; 27-10-22 at 17:36.

I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Lucky you I can’t afford a wife let alone Christmas. -
@johnscotty2
I can't really afford a wife either...but she's significantly cheaper to run than the central heating.
Christmas is just the date on the calendar that the Hot Poodles run out. Boxing day lunch will be the cardboard carton they came in.Last edited by retrotecchie; 27-10-22 at 18:14.

Cardboard Cartons don’t stoke the furnace up much for putting your feet on, should keep the hot poodle skins and insulate the foot warmer for longer lasting energy savings. -
Anyway, where were we? Ah, gender identities and pronouns...and administrative matters.
Right, I'm almost 100% certain @JoeSoap is a he/him as in his/their opening post pretty much said so. Plus I've spotted a reference to a FloSoap. Not that I would assume, of course. Joe could in fact be a Josephine and Flo Rida was a fella last time I looked. And of course there is the obvious matter of sexual preference which is a completely separate issue and none of anyone's business. He/him, I reckon.
@meldrewreborn I'm guessing is a 'Victor' rather than a 'Victoria in terms of pronouns but again, I COULD be wrong. Obviously real names and screen names are often completely unconnected , but I'm tending towards a he/him.
Willing to lay money that @johnscotty2 is a he/him on account of a DM sign-off...although I once knew a girl with that name. At least, I hope she was actually a girl...it was dark at the time and I was a few beers up and it was in America...
So that leaves me. I'm pretty sure you all have me figured out. I've mentioned a wife a few times, and I think you know I'm Mike.
Only I'm not married...my better half isn't actually my wife, but we've lived together for a decade so she is to all intents and purposes. I have been actually married before, but that was to a different wife in a different life. The current squeeze seems to be as expensive to run as an actual wife, so as far as I'm concerned, she may as well be. I'll just refer to her as the wife, or equivalent term.
To quote a line from the classic comedy film Mrs Doubtfire: "I don't work with the males....because I used to be one.". Mike is actually short for Michaela so that makes me....
...only kidding. Mike, short for Michael, and definitely he/him. More years behind me than in front of me, so somewhere in the exasperated/curmudgeonly part of the spectrum sometimes but generally fairly laid back and always on for a bit of a chinwag and a laugh or two.
But the whole gender identity/political correctness thing can be a nightmare to navigate. I'm pretty tolerant and don't offend easily and I will do my best not to offend others,
Anyway does four constitute a quorum and do we need to elect officers and/or 'prefects'?Last edited by retrotecchie; 29-10-22 at 02:30.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
