After weeks of pestering for a chameleon smart meter, and eon first offering to fit one a couple of years ago I got a text message today. I was being invited to book my appointment for an engineer to install my shiny new smart meter. Despite the fact I was told that since I had a PV set up I would need 3 phase electrics (I don’t) but here I was about to get a smart meter. So I followed the link in the text message, completed a questionnaire about location of meters, etc, and guess what? Didn’t get an appointment because there are no installation appointments available in my location.
so what was that all about? -

Hint. It's not Eon.next that actually install the meters. Not that that helps you any, but the meter swapping is usually subcontracted out. You may have had the invitation to apply for an appointment, but meters are installed on behalf of lots of energy suppliers so you'll be in the queue with everyone else in your area.
Keep trying and you will get an appointment in the end. You may need to persevere. -
@Cirenmoby. You’d cry if you didn’t laugh!Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
